Essays

As a college essay coach, I guide students through the process of writing the Common App (or Coalition) essay.  The Common App essay is the one spot where students have the opportunity to “speak” to the admissions committee in their own unique voice and to share elements of their personal story that the rest of the application may not capture.  We aim for an essay that is personal, expressive, lively and compelling.

Colleges not on the Common or Coalition App often have their own individual applications which may require an essay as well. Many schools require students to answer supplemental questions and some request one or more additional full-length essays. My students have received acceptances to a wide range of schools and have often received substantial scholarships and grants.  (See full list of college acceptances.)
